A former concrete worker, I now mostly work on porch rebuilds, decks, fences and trim carpentry. There’s a good chance whatever you need done I’ve already done to my own house!

My name is Matt Cathlina and I’ve lived in the Volker neighborhood with my wife for almost 20 years. We rented locally before finally buying our house on Bell in 2001. You’ve probably seen me out walking my dog, Jimbo (and formerly my two older pups, Rudy and Savannah). I am an ex-union cement mason and laborer and non-union residential carpenter. I’ve acquired many skills working on my home out of necessity (it used to be a neglected rental property), and I’ve come to enjoy the restoration process. I have since rehabbed several other homes in the KC area. My interests include running, gardening, playing guitar and working on my cabin in Arkansas. Cathlina Construction was created so I can take on jobs close to home and in the neighborhoods I love, but I will go anywhere help is needed. I look forward to hearing from you!
